Conscious Discipline is a method of behavior management that teaches children how to identify their feelings and take control of them by learning techniques for self-regulation. Conscious Discipline For Parents
Part of conscious discipline is having students set behavior goals for themselves. During the day, if it seems as though a student needs to focus on a goal, I will encourage the student to choose a goal and focus on that one particular behavior to improve. The goals match our rules for the classroom:
- I can be ready.
- I can be respectful.
- I can be safe.
